Ro's Vision
The problem in 21st century America is extreme inequality and elite control.
A small group has captured the vast majority of our nation’s wealth and power. Our economy is unfair and lopsided.
Kids today fear their lives will be nothing like their parents’ or grandparents’. In Pennsylvania, where I grew up, families worry about good jobs and paying the bills. Meanwhile, in my Silicon Valley district, a handful of corporations and billionaires control over $18 trillion within a 50-mile radius.
America cannot thrive when it is half prosperous and half struggling.
For decades, Republicans handed tax breaks to the wealthy and let corporations offshore our jobs. Democrats supported bad trade deals like NAFTA and China’s entry into the WTO—without doing enough to protect workers. Both parties handed power to billionaires who hoarded wealth and bought politicians. The governing elite screwed us.
The old guard has failed our nation. I am speaking to the anger of millions of families who’ve been crushed by a rigged economy and hollowed out towns. 70 percent of Americans no longer believe in the American dream.
We cannot go back to the failed status quo of the Democratic establishment that led to two terms of Trump and a dismal approval rating for the party. More of the same is not an option.
We need a fresh economic vision for the 21st century—one that works for the working and middle class.
I want every American to have the shot this nation gave me.
That means a new Economic patriotism that confronts the economic divides tearing our nation apart. Our mission is clear: secure economic independence for every family and every community in America.
We need a Marshall Plan for America. A White House Economic Development Council will establish a National Industrial Bank to invest in the economic projects that communities need. We will bring modern factories, tech institutes, trade schools, care jobs, and capital to every region of the country—not just to a handful of coastal cities.
We will rebuild America as a clean manufacturing superpower, with bold investments in steel and semiconductors, ships and chips, biotech and renewables. We will ensure our leading companies invest capital in every region and establish 1,000 new trade schools. We will create good-paying jobs—from electricians, truck drivers, and machinists to nurses and prompt engineers —and launch AI academies to prepare workers for the jobs in cybersecurity, digital marketing, and tech implementation.
We will deliver a living wage and ensure workers share in the profits they create because every American deserves a stake in our prosperity.
We will slash the cost of living. Life in America is simply too expensive.
Medicare for All will end treatment denials, outrageous premiums, and crushing deductibles.
Quality child care will be free for every family.
Public college and trade school will be free—so every student can succeed without debt.
We will ban Wall Street firms from buying up homes, double housing construction, and cap excessive rents. We will guarantee Americans a home by 35, like we do for veterans, if they work hard.
How do we pay for it?
Tax the billionaires. I represent more of them than anyone in Congress, and when I backed a billionaire tax, they poured big money into a primary challenge. If I can stand up to donors funding my opponents, the rest of Congress can too. And cut the bloated Pentagon budget for endless foreign wars. I’m for Team America first.
We must be a nation on the move again, as we were when Kennedy called us to the moon. That vision brought my parents here. This was the place to be.
I want an America that is humming with activity, building things, and brimming with confidence.
An America where families can afford a home, quality education, childcare, and healthcare.
An America where we again live the American Dream.
Economic renewal is our new national purpose. Shared prosperity strengthens our multiracial democracy so America leads the world as a moral force for good.
